Awesome humans doing awesome things. This is what 6 months of trail maintenance across Montana, Idaho and Wyoming loos like...
From May-October, 2025 I was working for Montana Conservation Corps. A job that consisted of long weeks and hours of camping, manual labour and not showering.
Exposure to natural landscapes has endless benefits, both mental and physical. Being immersed in nature also makes us appreciate it more which is why conserving and maintaining trails is such important work that often goes un-noticed.
I hope these images shine a light on the hard work that goes into keeping trails accessible and that they might get you to think of those who built and maintained the next trail you find yourslef walking on!
